Iqra Primary School has recently received recognition from the Schools’ Minister, Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP for the 3rd year in a row.

Nick writes “Your school’s results….show that 100% of your pupils reached or exceeded the expected standard in reading at the end of Key Stage 2. This means that for achievement in reading, your school is in the top 1% of primary schools in England.”

This recognition comes on the back of letters received in both 2017 and 2018 for achievement in maths, demonstrating the breadth of the achievement of Iqra pupils over a sustained period.

Iqra Primary School has long valued the importance of reading as a tool for learning and for life and its association with programmes such as the Power of Reading and Bug Club have played a key role in promoting a love of books and of reading amongst our pupils.
