Year 5 visited the National Maritime Museum as part of their English topic ‘Shackleton’s Journey’. They were able to see the original photos and artefacts from the expedition. Although the boat , The ‘Endurance’, did not make the journey to Antartica, Ernest Shackleton heroically brought all his crew back alive. His bravery is still celebrated today.
The children also had the opportunity to see the Cutty Sark and the Greenwich Mean time line as well as view the sights of London and the O2.
