Reception , were extremely excited about their walk to our local post box. The timing was just right as our local Royal Mail delivery driver had just reached the post box to collect the morning mail! And the rain didn’t dampen their moods…

They each posted a letter they had written independently to a family member at home… we hope you were surprised when you received them! They certainly enjoyed their literacy sessions which focused on writing for a purpose. We burnt through over two hundred envelopes this half term… who said Reception boys and girls were not enthusiastic about writing?!

The class had enjoyed reading the different types of post ‘The Jolly Postman’ was sending out, from postcards, magazines, letters, cards and invitations. They spent some time writing letters to their favourite characters from the traditional tales they had read in class… this included the BIG BAD WOLF, the Gingerbread man and Goldilocks.
