At the beginning of the term, year 2 went on a trip to Clapham Common. The children’s mission was to build a tower out of sticks taller than the adults. This required great teamwork and problem solving skills. Ustadha Mahmoud showed the groups how to tie the sticks together using string and planted it in the ground. They began to look and collect from the park. One child came across a wriggly worm during the stick hunt. Afterwards, the children tied the sticks together and planted them in the ground. There was some stiff competition as all the children were determined to build their tall tower. The children managed to achieve it. Most importantly, the children had fun despite the mud.
