In Science this term, we have been investigating different materials and their uses. Today we carried out a simple test to answer the following question: What does the ripping of the material tell us about their suitability?
Children explored different types of paper and tested how easy they were to rip. They made predictions and wrote down their findings on investigation sheets. We concluded that some materials are easy to rip and some were hard to rip. This is because if something is tightly packed it makes it hard to rip. We then discussed what each paper was most commonly used for and how suitable it is for that role.
