Year 3 have been exploring vases in Art and have created some fantastic pottery over the last few weeks.

They began by exploring the variety of vases there are around the world and the use of the vases. Year 3 were excited to create their own pottery as they had learnt about the Stone Age last term and were intrigued in the process undertaken by the people of the Stone Age when making and using pottery in their daily lives. Year 3 used their knowledge of pottery from Stone Age and applied it well to their exploration of vases.

They then used these vases as an inspiration to design their own using a particular theme they had chosen.

Year 3 were not afraid to get their hand stuck in and used the skills they had acquired to create the amazing coiled vases.

The children were very proud of their creations and deserve a big round of applause for all of their hard work!
