In Year 1, we were very excited to celebrate World book day and share our love for books with each other.

We started the morning with a special whole-school assembly, where we got the chance to look at all the costumes worn in the school. We also had a quiz on books, where the it was teachers vs the children. The children won!

Throughout the day, we shared some of our favourite books from home with the class. We read them to our friends and explained why we they were our favourites. We enjoyed listening to the story of Cinderella, Dear Zoo and Why elephant has a trunk.

We spent some time as spies cracking a code by answering addition and subtraction questions and matching the answer to a letter. We listened to a few retellings of stories and did activities such as word searches.

We really enjoyed World Book Day and can’t wait for the next one!
