Its that time of the year, where children will be electing their new school council! School council members are a group of pupils who are voted for by the children. Each class from Year 1 – Year 6 has two representatives on the council. Council members are important as they represent pupils’ voice at Iqra.
In the past, the student council has met every half term to bring ideas on improving the school, meeting and greeting visitors, assisting in school events and visiting the Greater London Authority as well as much more.
Classes are in the process of nominating pupils who will then prepare statements to present to the school. The school will then vote on who they would like to represent them on the School Council. Nominated candidates will be addressing their peers in an assembly on Monday 23 January. Elections will be held on 3rd February.
