Year 4 has started cricket this term. Every Monday until the 12th of June we will enjoy to learn the skills and techniques of playing cricket. So far we have focused on throwing, catching, bowling, fielding and batting.
The children found out there are a few specific skills they needed to practice and develop to play cricket. For example, catching involved; opening both hands into the shape of a bowl, watching the ball and bending knees to allow movement.
Batting, although seems easy, is a bit more tricky to master. It involved; standing side ways, two hands on the bat, strong hand on the bottom, flat side of the bat facing the ball, step and swing.
We are still trying to master many of these techniques, making mistakes but enjoy doing and learning it !
