Our School Day

Reception-Year 6
Morning Arrival and Registration
At Iqra we believe that starting the day on time and in the right way is a skill for life. Our pupils are encouraged to arrive in time for morning recitation from 8.20 in the courtyard (Years 1-6) and they are greeted by their class teacher in time for the formal start of the school day at 8.30. Our Early years classes welcome children directly into class from 8.20.
Latecomers after 8.30 are recorded as such and we regularly hold meetings with parents if lateness becomes persistent. Punctuality ensures that our children can enjoy a seamless start to the school day and maximise their learning and social opportunities and it is something we take very seriously.
Thank you to all our parents for cooperating with this core value.
First Day Response
Thank you to parents for always keeping us informed if your child is unwell and going to be absent from school. In the event that we do not hear from you, our busy office staff will make a call to establish why your child is not in attendance.
Thank you for helping us to keep absenteeism to a minimum.
End of Day Procedures
We pride ourselves on making face to face contact with each adult collecting any of our children and our children will not be released until that contact is made.
The school day ends at 3.30pm and we encourage our parents to be prompt in collecting children at the end of each busy and long school day.
Thank you for helping us to keep all our children safe and following this protocol.
