Assalamu alaykum and welcome back,
The children have settled in very well and are happy to be back after 10 weeks of lockdown. Iqra continued online learning for all classes which allowed the children to continue to make progress. Well done to all of our parents who became our supply teachers, managing the timetable, technical issues, and making sure that their children were still learning.
All the staff and children are happy to be back and we are continuing with our safety measures of making sure that our children are sanitising their hands, one way routes, separate playtimes and areas, and keeping children in bubbles. Thank you for picking up and dropping off the children in an orderly manner.
Cricket for Year 4
Year 4 are enjoying extra sessions of cricket which is being run by Platform Cricket. Children are being introduced to the game as well as key skills like striking and fielding. A special mention to Jennah who has been chosen from 3000 students and won Player of the Week. She will be presented with a medal for being the stand out player and will also be featured on their website!
Hadith of the Week
Mu’adh ibn Jabal reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah looks down at his creation on the middle night of Sha’ban and he forgive all of his creatures, except for an idolater or one harboring malice.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān 5782 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani
One of the most challenging difficulties that we have to face as parents is ensuring that our children are safe online. Although the internet is an amazing place to learn and be entertained, it comes with dangers such as adult content, game addiction, speaking to strangers, cyber bullying as many others dangers.
We teach our children every year the importance of staying safe and secure through special lessons. It is absolutely important that parents do not leave children unsupervised on the internet but now exactly what their children are watching and playing.
We held a special meeting for our Year 6 parents in which we shared information on how to keep children safe. For more information click https://www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/
