Hadith of the Week
Ibn Umar reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Do not fast the month of Ramadan until you see the crescent moon, and do not break your fast until you see it. If the sky is cloudy for you, then estimate it.”

Iqra students took part in FREE cycle training, this week. The Level 1 training was delivered in the school playground whilst Level 2 training took place on local quiet roads to develop strategies for dealing with traffic. Children brought their cycles in and learnt how to stay safe on the road.
We will be welcoming the blessed month of Ramadan next week. During Ramadan, the school day will be from 9.30am – 3.00pm. We will open the school gates from 9.15am onward.
Children in Years 5 and 6 are allowed to fast during the school day. However, children in Year 4 will need to fill in a special permission form on a daily basis if they are fasting. For those who are fasting, the school will provide a quiet place for children to recite Quran if they wish to so during the lunch break.
Wishing you a month full of mercy, forgiveness and salvation.
