On Monday 10th June 2019, Year 4 once again paid a visit to the Natural History Museum.
However, this time we took part in the ‘Mission to Mars: LEGO® Explorers Workshop’. Pupils designed, created and coded a Martian rover using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 robotics sets in this hands-on workshop.
Children were first taught about space exploration and current investigation happening in space centres around the world. Through this they were informed about rovers and their use in these investigations. Children were then challenged to build their own rover and where able to add any special features they desired. Children then had to code the rover to move, make sounds and return home over a range of terrain.
