This half-term in Year 1, we have been looking at the different seasons found in the UK . We have been exploring the different types of weather found in these seasons.

We started with Autumn and looked at the falling leaves and discussed the weather. The children began to document the weather on different days. We noticed that the weather was windy and rainy, so we decided to measure the wind and rainfall.

To do this we made rain gauges and wind streamers. We used tissue paper and lolly sticks to make the wind streamers and recycled plastic water bottles to make the rain gauges. The children then had the opportunity to put them to the test.

The children had a lot of fun, making and testing these out!
