Year 4 took a trip to Nine Elms to investigate how the land is being used for our geography field trip. The key question for the local area fieldwork study was, ‘How has land use in our local area changed over time?’. We identified Nine Elms using a map and described its physical and human features prior to the trip. On the trip we carried out a fieldwork investigation of what has changed over the landscape in Nine Elms over time. The children especially enjoyed the open space in front of the Battersea Power Station where we sat down and drew a filed sketch of the surrounding area.

We collected, recorded data using tally charts. Overall we concluded that Nine Elms had many human features changed and is now a more vibrant and useful area to the community. There are still many developments and construction in the area so they land is still subject to change and development.
