Beegu, a small, innocent alien has crashed her spaceship and landed in the middle of nowhere! All alone, afraid and vulnerable, she navigates her way through this strange and unfamiliar world.
In English, Year 1 have been exploring the journey of Beegu’s emotions throughout her weird and wonderful adventure. We have been visualising the kind of friend Beegu may need on Earth. We have written fantastic character descriptions of these friends. Here are some examples:
We have also engaged in hot-seating in the role of Beegu – we put ourselves into Beegu’s shoes, and took turns asking and answering questions to find out more about the character.
Year 1 have taken part in forest school – we visited Clapham Common and created beautiful hanging frames using the natural resources we found. We hung them up around the classroom!
We recently celebrated the wonderful world of reading on World Book Day. We came in dressed as our favourite characters.
Spotted: Buzz Lightyear, Elsa, Matilda, The Gruffalo, Little Red, Hulk and our very own on-call doctor.
We even had the opportunity to meet Gareth P. Jones, who answered our curious questions about his journey as an author.
