In Year4, we recently finished a Food Technology topic where the focus was a healthy balanced diet. In our lessons we looked what the term healthy actually means and how we can have a balanced diet by ensuring we eat carbohydrates, proteins, dairy, fruits and vegetables. We also looked at techniques to help us slice and chop up some vegetables. The children were really good at using the claw and bridge method during these lessons. As a final product we all made different sandwiches that were healthy and an excellent part of  a healthy diet. The children used different types of breads and ingredients and absolutely enjoyed eating their sandwiches afterwards.
